Twenty thousand firefighters have been grounded through the First Responder donation program Olivia Ramirez Smith runs. She talks about the number as only the beginning.
The program gives indoor grounding products to fire departments at no cost. No pilot pricing, no discount structure, no conversion funnel waiting at the end of it. Olivia Ramirez Smith and The Mother Earth Effect LLC, the company she founded and runs, absorb it.
The charitable reading is the obvious one. There is a second reading that explains more about how she works.
Firefighters are the hardest population in the country to fool about recovery. A firefighter runs a body through heat, smoke, adrenaline, and interrupted sleep on a schedule nobody designed for human beings, and then does it again in forty-eight hours. They know precisely how it feels the morning after a bad shift, because they have calibrated against hundreds of them. They have no incentive to tell a wellness founder what she wants to hear.
Olivia Ramirez Smith put the practice in front of twenty thousand of them.
What comes back is unfiltered, and it’s the closest thing to a stress test her work has been through. A woman at a retreat is inside a designed environment. A firefighter using something in their own bed after a night on a fire line is not. If it does nothing for them, they stop, and says so.
That population also sits outside her audience, which is the part that matters most. Olivia Ramirez Smith writes for women. Her bestselling book The Mother Earth Effect carries twenty-one contributing women. Sole Rooted runs twelve women per retreat. A practice that works only for the people already inclined to believe in it is not a practice, and firefighters are the control group she never had.
She has not built a case study program around any of this. There is no landing page collecting testimonials from fire stations. The absence is deliberate, and it is the reason the program keeps its access.
The occupational load is the stated reason she chose them. Firefighters carry inflammation, sleep disruption, and chronic stress at rates the general population does not approach, which makes them the population where the practice she advocates has the most room to matter. Olivia Ramirez Smith is careful about the claim she makes here. She does not say it treats anything. She says these are the people whose recovery gets the least support, and she has products she can hand them.
Departments talk to each other, which is the other thing she found out. A program that arrives with a sales attachment gets discussed once and dropped. One that arrives with nothing attached gets passed along, and most of the growth in the firefighter count has come from stations that heard about it from other stations.
The framing is consistent with the rest of her record. She co-produced the documentary The Earthing Movie, featuring Clint Ober, Strategic Partner, and let it go out to over 8 million global views without charging for it. She is one of the co-authors of Sacred Spaces: Subtle shifts for Mind, Body, and Home Transformations, the number one best-seller led by Colleen Avis that won the Books for Peace International Award, where the credit is shared across a group.
She keeps building things where the reach is free and the depth is small.
Twenty thousand is where the firefighter count stands. Olivia Ramirez Smith has said she intends to keep going until every American firefighter who wants indoor grounding products has them, which is a number in the hundreds of thousands.
She is not close. She has been at it for years and has no plan to stop.
